Absence and Medication

ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL

If children are absent from school due to illness, please telephone the school between 8.30am and 9.00am if possible or alternatively you may send a note.  Please give prior notice to the class teacher of hospital/doctor/dental appointments etc.

If your child is absent from school and the absence is not reported to the school these absences will be recorded on the class register as ‘Unauthorised’.  It is your responsibility to report any absences to school.

Parents who wish to take their children out of school during term time for annual holidays must contact the school in advance in order to complete an official leave of absence form.

If your child is taken ill, or has an accident in school, you will be contacted immediately on your home or emergency telephone number.

PRESCRIBED MEDICATION

If your child needs to take prescribed medication during school time, please ensure that an explanatory note is sent to the class teacher and that the medication is fully labelled.  In the case of long-term medication, please complete a consent form which is available from the Head teacher.
