Welcome to St. David's Church in Wales Primary School.

                         Colwinston Kids' Club

Colwinston Kids’ Club was set up in September 2006 by parents of children at St David’s Primary School as a flexible, high quality childcare service for children after school.

The club is situated in Colwinston Village Hall. Children are collected from a meeting point at the school during term-time and escorted safely to the club.

Most parents use the facility on a regular basis and make fixed bookings each term or half term. However, ad-hoc bookings are also welcome even if they are only for occasional short sessions to cover after-school activities. The club can accommodate up to 16 children each evening.

Opening Times and Prices

  • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday till (£8)

  • Wednesday till 5.15 (£6)

  • Short sessions till 4.30 (£4)

If parents want to register more than one child, the cost of each session for the second child is 50p cheaper. There is currently no Friday session, but if parents register an interest, this situation will be reviewed.

Activities

Each evening children at the club can join in a variety of organised activities, or if they prefer, they can opt for ‘free play’. Activities include:

  • Arts and crafts

  • Hair and beauty evenings

  • Face painting and body art

  • Karaoke and discos

  • Cooking and baking

  • Playing with toys, the play station  or X-box

  • Mini snooker

  • DVD evenings with popcorn

  • Outdoor sports

  • Picnics in the park

Other events such as visits from the fire brigade are also popular with the children.

Snacks

The children are provided with a variety of snacks and a choice of soft drinks each evening. In addition to traditional foods such as toast, fruit and biscuits, there are themed evenings with food from around the world each week. Examples include:

  • Italian evening with pizza and pasta

  • Chinese evening with noodles, prawn crackers and dipping sauce

  •            Mexican evening with nachos

  • Outdoor picnics where the children make their own sandwiches

  • Chocolate fountain
